Use case
Price drop monitoring for product and SaaS pages
Watch the price block on a product or plan page. Set a threshold so tiny formatting edits stay quiet and a real discount notifies you.
Try price drop monitoring on a live URL
Paste a product or pricing page, select the price block, then create the monitor. Same flow as the homepage: public pages run in the cloud; signed-in pages use your Chrome extension.

What this watch is for
Most product and pricing pages also rotate banners, cookie bars, related-item carousels, and promo strips. If you screenshot the whole layout, you get an alert every time the chrome moves. Price drop monitoring only works if the watch is the number, or the plan cell, that you would actually act on.
WebURLTracker lets you click that block in a live preview, store a baseline, and compare later captures against it. A formatting tweak can stay quiet when you set a threshold. A real discount shows in both the screenshot and the text diff, so you can forward proof without opening the live URL again.
That job shows up for shoppers waiting on a SKU, merchandising teams tracking rivals, and SaaS buyers watching a public pricing table. The setup is the same: one rectangle, one threshold, one channel that people already read.
How it works in practice
Paste the product or pricing URL into the preview on this page. Draw the price, the compare-at amount, or the plan grid cell. Name the monitor after the thing you care about, not only the hostname. "Acme Pro monthly cell" is clearer in Slack at 2am than "acme.com/pricing".
Set a threshold if you only care about a drop, an increase, or crossing a number you pick. Cloud checks run on a schedule with jitter so you are not hitting the origin on a round interval. Alerts go to email on the free plan, or Slack, Teams, Discord, Telegram, and webhooks on paid plans.
If the price only appears after login, run the monitor as Local in Chrome. The check uses your session in the browser you already signed into. Do not paste cookies into a cloud worker for that case. Keep cloud for public pages and Local for gated ones.
Thresholds that cut noise
A one-cent rounding change is not a price drop for most teams. Use a percentage or absolute threshold so tiny layout or currency formatting edits stay quiet. If you only want cheaper, choose a drop rule. If you only want a sale below a floor you set, use that crossing as the rule.
Thresholds work with the same region you drew. They do not replace region picking. A full-page watch with a threshold still fires when the hero image swaps and the price stays put. Draw the price first. Tune the threshold second.
Throttle repeats when a merchant flickers a promo badge during a messy campaign. One clear alert beats ten near-duplicates while the page settles.
Folders and team review
Put each rival or catalog in its own folder. Mute decisions then stay local to that competitor instead of silencing every watch in the workspace. Assign one owner for naming before the team piles in. Duplicate monitors on the same cell with different thresholds waste checks and trust.
Review from the event artifact: before screenshot, after screenshot, and text diff. Live pages change again. The stored event does not. That matters when sales or counsel need a record of what the page said at alert time.
Where this is a better fit than screenshot-only tools
Full-page screenshot tools are strong when you want a picture of the whole marketing site. Desktop watchers are strong if you already live in one browser on one laptop. WebURLTracker is the better solution when the price is one rectangle on a noisy PDP, you want the old and new copy in the same record, and more than one person needs to review in a shared workspace.
You still get a screenshot. You also get the text that changed, folders for catalogs, and Local Chrome when the number sits behind a login. That mix is what keeps price watches usable after the first week, when carousel noise would otherwise train everyone to mute alerts.
A short setup checklist
Use the URL preview on this page with a product or pricing URL that has burned you before. Pick only the price or plan cell. Set a drop threshold if cents do not matter. Choose email or Slack. Run it for a few days beside any full-page watch you already have and compare false positives, not feature lists.
When the preview looks right, create the monitor from the same flow. Free includes five monitors with cloud and Local allowance. Scale folders and teammates when the catalog grows. If stock badges matter on the same PDP, pair this watch with back-in-stock monitoring on the availability control instead of widening the price rectangle to cover both.
